Cashing In On The Blogging Craze

By Trevor Weir

What is a Blog? Well, you might be reading this now from either a blog or an article directory, so that might give you a clue. A Blog ( sometimes called a Web Blog ) is an online commentary that is maintained and updated on a regular basis using a content management system that takes the html coding and complexity away from the author.

Canada's Globe and Mail reported in 2008, that for the first time over 1.5 Billion people had access to the internet. Thanks to the ease with which Bloggers can now attempt to monetize their blogs, you can bet that hundreds of thousands of bloggers are trying to do exactly this. But how really is it done?

Getting your inner most thoughts out for the entire world to not only read but comment on is now as easy as getting either a free blog on wordpress.com or blogger.com. Both are public but one is owned by wordpress and the other is owned by Google.

It would be difficult to not have heard about blogging. With 10 million part timers and a few well known bloggers like John Chow earning tens of thousands monthly, one would truly have had to bury one's head in the sand to have not heard about this phenomena.

This is different from the older "webpages only" in that no html coding is required to operate or manage one's own web site and thus tens of millions of new *bloggers* are joining the blogsophere quarterly.

Topics that you can post on blogs are virtually infinite, those can be anything from Politics , Current Events, Foods -- to even how you spent your evening with your adorable pet Pomeranian.

Recently, there has been a smoky underground rumor claiming that several guys are cleaning up financially using their blogs. Two internet marketers with different blogging styles, Y Silver and Ben are rumoured to be in the 7 to 8 figure range in terms of revenue.

The truth is, there is quite a small group of people who have become so very successful with their online blogging that it has become their full time job earning money enough to support themselves and even beyond that. But for every thousand people that try, I would guess that there are 998, whom have less than wonderful stories regarding their online earnings.

Here are some of the methods that some bloggers used to make a hundred dollars a day. We are going to list a few of them, but by no means should you think that this is an exhaustive list. Some ways in which others are monetizing their blogs involves... Joomla or Wordpress Plugin Advertising Donations Buying good Cheap Domains and selling higher Primary Sponsors Affiliate programs such as Clickbank, Commission Junction

Blogs have come a very long way and the myriad ways of making money from them grows at an ever exponential pace. If you have found this interesting and you are really interested in getting the low down on what was done by those earning six and seven earnings annually, click on the link below and see for yourself which of the top 5 blog monetization methods absolutely raked in the money, failed the test or achieved super stardom.
